Build a Better Bloor Dufferin is proud to launch our latest fundraising campaign. Show your support for affordable housing, community spaces, parks and most of all, our fabulous neighbours by purchasing a lawn sign or window sign. For a minimum donation of $20 you will receive a sturdy lawn sign (personally delivered and installed!), or you can get a window sign for $10. Money raised will help fund our legal costs at the OMB (LPAT).

Send an email to info@buildbloordufferin.ca stating which sign you would like and how many, include your address and we will reply with payment information and delivery details.

If you already signed up for a lawn sign at one of our events please send an email to: info@buildbloordufferin.ca with your name and the event you signed up (if you can remember).

BBBD

Building a Better Bloor Dufferin is the community of local residents, businesses, community services agencies, arts companies, and others who have come together out of shared alarm and concern about the sale of public school lands for private development and proposals to massively rebuild Dufferin Mall.

BBBD has a holistic vision for the school lands reflecting our community’s needs:

● Land for a 200-unit non-profit building of deeply affordable and supported housing, along with the integration of 10% affordable units into the proposed condominium buildings;

● Additional finished space and funds for a Hub of 70 000 sq. ft. as envisioned by the

multi-stakeholder Community Hub Visioning Group who spent 10 months consulting local residents;

● A minimum of .5 acres of additional land to the current park space to

compensate for the loss of tennis and basketball courts;

● Additional funds of $10 million for the rebuild of Bloor Collegiate to ensure the school will adequately serve its student population and remain a resource in the community. We support the local school community’s finding that future enrolment projections are low. The current provincial funding formula does not allocate eno0ugh money to build a school adequate for a fast growing population.
